This was for another college project which was to redesign the poster for a classic movie, I chose Independence Day. Also this was my first matte painting so it was pretty different for me. This was a movie about an alien invasion on Earth staring Will Smith. On all the classic posters for this movie they always show the space craft and not the aliens so I thought this would make a unique twist for the poster. There were not many references of the alien on the internet so I had to sit down and study the aliens straight from the movie. This piece took about 2 hours to complete and was created purely in Photoshop. Over all this piece was a very enjoyable image to create. Alien design copyright by Independence Day movie 1996
